About Ana Romero
Welcome to my world!

I’m an artist and designer born in Lisbon, Portugal (1981). I studied Communication Design at the College of Fine Arts of Lisbon but always had a passion for textiles. I began my career as an independent textile designer and created a design studio in New York, where my eponymous lifestyle brand was established in 2012.
"I tell colour stories. In my work colour speaks louder than words."
Color is my medium of choice. My vibrant graphic aesthetic is informed by the complexity of the colour spectrum and my love of patterns. I’m interested in exploring color as a medium of expression. In how it enriches and changes the perception of the subject.
Most of my work is created digitally but it also stems from photographs, cutouts, textures and drawings that I create and manipulate on my computer. My work's influences span from my background in graphic and textile design, to optical and modern art, and the work of artists such as Bridget Riley, Frank Stella, Andy Warhol and Victor Vasarely.
Crossing boundaries between art and design, my eponymous lifestyle brand is acclaimed for its distinctive prints and vibrant use of color. It presents a selection of home and lifestyle accessories that combine modern design with luxury craftsmanship.
As an artist and designer I have exhibited extensively in Europe and the US and collaborated with major retailers such as Barneys NY, Liberty London, Harrods and Anthropologie. My work has also been featured in publications around the world, including Vogue, Forbes, Elle Decoration, Vanity Fair and L’Officiel.
